Liverpool can sign exciting wonderkid for free this summer, he could be a perfect fit - opinion

Just because Liverpool are uncertain about who will take over the managerial position doesn’t mean that the club’s scouts aren’t pursuing any deals. With Michael Edwards and Richard Hughes coming into the boardroom, there is now a little bit more clarity at the club.

And Liverpool will naturally pursue players even without knowing who the club’s manager will be. Especially players who are more long-term projects and signings for the future, who are not necessarily dependent on the new manager’s vision.

One of those according to HITC is Bence Dardai, a highly rated 18-year-old midfielder at Hertha Berlin, who has won the U17 European Championships. Dardai is someone who I’ve followed for a long time. And someone who would very much fit into Liverpool’s vision for the future.

Who is Bence Dardai? And why is he a perfect fit for Liverpool?

Bence Dardai is an 18-year-old youngster who comes from a footballing family. His father, Pal, played for many years in the Bundesliga and represented the Hungarian national team over 50 times. Meanwhile, his older brothers, Palko and Marton, both also represented the Hungarian national team and currently play for Hertha.

Bence though is regarded as the brightest of the three brothers. Back home, they have given him the nickname of Zlatan Ibrahimovic for his finishing ability. In his earlier youth days, he used to play as a forward. However, he has since transitioned into a midfielder.

Already standing at 1.89 metres, Dardai made 17 goal contributions in 21 games for Hertha at U19 level last season. He has since made his debut for Hertha’s first team, and has made 8 appearances in total in the 2.Bundesliga registering one assist before picking up an ankle injury that has meant he has only just returned to action recently.

Liverpool scouts will have seen him in action at the Pinatar Cup, which was won by England’s U18 side captained by Jayden Danns earlier this week. Amara Nallo and Trey Nyoni were also present at the tournament.

Dardai started the game against the Netherlands, which Germany won 1-0 and then starred in a 0- draw with England. Both times he stood out for his energy on the pitch, which saw him compete in 13 defensive duels, make 10 recoveries and five interceptions.

His contract at Hertha expires at the end of the season, meaning Liverpool could sign him for free. Given how highly rated he is, that would make him an absolute bargain.
