Argentine media react to Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez’s performance for his country in 3-1 win last night

Argentine media have now given their take on the performance of Enzo Fernandez for his country last night.

TyC Sports have now given him the World Cup winner a rating after he played the majority of their 3-1 win over Costa Rica in a friendly last night.

Fernandez has remained a crucial player for his country ever since they won the World Cup back in 2022, which is the competition Chelsea signed him off the back of.

He often puts in some of his better performances for his country, and this international break has been no different.

He found the net in the first friendly of the two against El Salvador, and was part of a side who worked hard to break down Costa Rica last night.

Argentine media impressed by Fernandez

TyC Sports awarded him a 7/10 for his display, with them impressed with how he kept the ball moving against a rigid opponent.

They said: “Fluid and agile in the circulation of the ball against a very closed defense, he tried with his returns from walls to break the lock but the definitions were not accurate. Keylor Navas made it 1-1.”

Fernandez likely to be benched vs Burnley

Considering how late in the international break this fixture was played over in the United States, there is a big chance that he does not start the next Chelsea game on Saturday.

The Blues are in action against Burnley at Stamford Bridge, as they look to maintain their push to fight for European football for next season.

This could see Moises Caicedo joined in the deeper midfield positions by Conor Gallagher, opening up a spot in the side for one player who is worthy of a start.

Mykhailo Mudryk booked Ukraine’s place at the EUROs last night, and has been playing well in the Number 10 role at Chelsea in recent weeks.
