'Delightful': Tyler Morton very impressed by 20-year-old Liverpool player who got two assists yesterday

Tuesday was a good day for Liverpool’s international players, with plenty of success stories to be told.

In truth, the evening belonged to Conor Bradley, who scored his first ever goal for Northern Ireland. Others played well and scored besides, but Bradley is the name that stands out.

At 20, the right-back was the youngest Liverpool player to be involved in a full international yesterday.

However, that doesn’t mean he was the only prospect to play. They may not have been turning out for the full England side, but both Tyler Morton and Harvey Elliott were in action for the Three Lions’ U21 team.

Harvey Elliott shines again for England

While Morton has been having a great season at Hull City and has forced his way into the England set-up, Elliott has been the star of the show.

Of course, it should be mentioned that the Young Lions have played against Azerbaijan and Luxembourg’s youth teams this week. With respect to those two nations, it’s really no surprise that they’ve registered a combined scoreline of 12-1 over those two matches.

Nevertheless, Elliott has shown that he’s a cut above most of the players at this level. After bagging twice against Azerbaijan, the 20-year-old turned provider last night.

Although he didn’t manage to get on the score sheet, Elliott did lay on two of England’s seven goals. The Liverpool youngster always finds a way to put his stamp on a game.

Tyler Morton impressed by Elliott

Morton didn’t actually get on the pitch last night for England. He did play in Friday’s win over Azerbaijan however, setting Elliott up with a quite brilliant pass.

And having watched his Liverpool teammate do something similar last night, the Hull man was full of priase.

Elliott took to Instagram after the game to share some action shots from the game. And after being present for the young man’s masterclass, Morton simply had to weigh in.

“Delightful,” wrote the 21-year-old, coupled with an applauding emoji.

Not much more needs to be said, really. Elliott is now maturing into a player who can really make the difference for his team.

Whether he’s leading the juniors or turning it on for Liverpool’s first-team, Harvey is showing exactly why Gareth Southgate can’t ignore him for the England senior team any longer.
