Authorities have identified thepedestrian struck and killed by a vehicle in Belleville last week as a 78-year-old woman.
Teresita Cenit was hit on the 100 block of Union Avenue shortly before 9 a.m. on Friday, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said.
Cenit, of Belleville, died of her injuries at an area hospital about 90 minutes later. The driver stopped and spoke with police. No charges have been filed, though the crash remains under investigation.
