Sky journalist says Man City player now has a 50% chance of being fit to face Arsenal on Sunday

A revelation about a key Manchester City player’s injury status has emerged ahead of his side’s upcoming clash against Arsenal.

For City to beat Mikel Arteta’s side on Sunday, they will have to be on their A-game.

However, that is easier said than done if Pep Guardiola does not have a fully fit squad to pick from for the contest at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City captain Kyle Walker has a “50/50” chance of being fit for Arsenal clash

Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has revealed the injury status of Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker ahead of his side’s encounter against Arsenal.

“Kyle Walker is rated 50/50 for that huge match against Arsenal this weekend. Now, he will have a scan on his hamstring. Now, Walker was captaining England, wasn’t he when he was forced off in the first half and left the squad and missed last night’s draw with Belgium”, he said on Sky Sports News.

Michael Bridge also mentioned that Matheus Nunes had picked up a knock.

It was recently claimed that City were internally hopeful that Walker would be fit to face Arsenal and that his hamstring injury was not as serious as it initially seemed.

The international break came at the wrong time for Manchester City

If the prospect of Kyle Walker potentially missing the heavyweight battle against Arsenal due to injury was not bad enough for Manchester City, they could have other absentees for the clash as well.

After suffering an adductor injury against Belgium on Tuesday, John Stones admitted that he was “not sure” about the extent of the knock.

Similarly, Manuel Akanji was also left out of Switzerland’s squad for their 2-0 win against Northern Ireland after he sustained a knock. The worry for Pep Guardiola is losing the City trio as well as Matheus Nunes for games beyond the contest against Arsenal, keeping in mind their forthcoming fixtures in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup.

It’s safe to say that the international break has been a nightmare for the treble-winners.
