'Everyone knows': Club will be open to selling £50m player this summer, Chelsea are interested - journalist

One player who Chelsea are reportedly interested in looks like he will be on the market this summer.

Despite signing Djordje Petrovic and Robert Sanchez last summer and still having Kepa Arrizabalaga on their books, Chelsea are being linked with goalkeepers.

For example, it was recently reported that the Blues are interested in Brazilian shot-stopper Bento.

They also continue to be linked with Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsdale, with journalist Dean Jones recently claiming that they are keen on him.

If so, Chelsea may have a good opportunity to sign him from their London rivals this summer.

Chelsea could have chance to sign Aaron Ramsdale

Losing his place at the Emirates to David Raya, it looks like Ramsdale is now heading for the exit door.

According to journalist Charles Watts, the consensus in the game right now is Arsenal will be open to selling their goalkeeper in the next transfer window.

In his column for CaughtOffside, Watts stated: “Everyone knows Arsenal will be open to a sale, but they also know that Ramsdale is pretty much surplus to requirements given that Raya is now undisputed No.1.

“Had Ramsdale been a regular starter, Arsenal could quite reasonably have demanded around £50m to do business. But it will be much, much harder for them to do that now, given his situation.”

TalkSPORT suggested back in December that £50m was the amount of money Arsenal wanted for Ramsdale.

Chelsea could have new-look backline next season

Chelsea could also bring in a new central defender alongside Ramsdale.

The Blues are set to lose Thiago Silva when his contract expires in the summer, making the arrival of another centre-back possible.

It has been claimed that Juventus’ Gleison Bremer has been offered to Chelsea, who would not be a bad addition to Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad.

As per FBref, the Brazilian has ranked in the 87th percentile for aerials won among his positional peers over the last year. If Chelsea want to recruit an aerially dominant defender this summer, then Bremer could be their man.

While Ramsdale potentially replaces Petrovic or Sanchez, it looks like the Brazil international could succeed Silva.
