Anton Ferdinand has named the West Ham United player he would rather have in his team over one Tottenham Hotspur star, insisting that the Hammers man is a joke.
It has certainly been a difficult season for David Moyes. West Ham have struggled to capitalise on the high of their Europa Conference League win last season.
The Hammers sit seventh in the Premier League. And some in the media appear to be baffled by the idea that some of the fans are ready to see Moyes moved on.
But that arguably comes from the amount of talent available to Moyes. There are some outstanding players in the ranks, including Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen.
But the jewel in the crown is arguably Lucas Paqueta. Paqueta has shown time and time again that he is an exceptional talent. And when he is on form, West Ham look to be a completely different side.

Manchester City have an interest in Paqueta. And with that, Anton Ferdinand has told The Take On that he would pick the 26-year-old over James Maddison, despite the brilliant season he has had since signing for Tottenham.
“He’s a joke,” Ferdinand said of Paqueta.
“The eye test. Watch him. He’s a joke. And he can play the eight as well.
“I think [Maddison]’s tops. I really do. But Man City don’t want James Maddison, do they? They want Paqueta. I would rather in my team have Paqueta.”
Brazilian so important to West Ham
Of course, it would be wrong to not point out that Ferdinand is a West Ham fan. And thus, it is not entirely surprising that he opted for Paqueta over Maddison.
Maddison was one of the best players in the Premier League in the early weeks of the season. And his form was crucial in Tottenham leading the way in the opening stages.
What you can say is that Paqueta looks to be more important to this West Ham side than Maddison is to Spurs.
Tottenham have so many attacking options. So while Maddison is outstanding when he is pulling the strings, they do still have some other impressive players.
Paqueta looks to be almost irreplaceable to West Ham this season. And if they do sell him in the coming months, the Hammers have got a huge task on their hands to move forward.
