VfB Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß is confident that his new national team players will continue their strong showings in Saturday's Bundesliga match against mid-table Heidenheim.

Full back Maximilian Mittelstädt had impressive maiden caps as a starter in the victories against France and the Netherlands, and scored against the Dutch.

Defender Waldemar Anton and striker Deniz Undaf made their debuts off the bench and Chris Führich also came on after making his debut in autumn.

All four have shone for Stuttgart who are playing a strong season in third place in the Bundesliga and aiming for Champions league football for the first time in 15 years.

Hoeneß said "there could be risk" that the quartet may have a bit of a let down but added that he has full faith in the players who also want to continue playing well in order to make the Euro 2024 squad.

"The lads now have a clear goal in mind: that we bring this extraordinary season to an extraordinary end," he said.

"if you want to achieve special things it should be no problem to be 100% motivated as well for Heidenheim."

Hoeneß said the quartet returned from the national team in a positive mood.

"It was a great experience to witness the euphoria there too and to have helped initiate it. They were two really good games and the boys were part of them. That gives them a good feeling," he said.
