Arsenal reportedly frontrunners to sign £60m forward who Thierry Henry said is 'always on the front foot'

Arsenal have been linked with a host of players ahead of the summer transfer window, with numerous attacking players said to be on the Gunners radar.

Obviously the prospect of a new No. 9 has been mentioned quite a bit on the Arsenal rumour mill, a focal point in attack to just bang the goals in.

There has also been speculation about new wingers who could potentially lessen the workload for Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli with no drop-off in quality.

Arsenal may be challenging for the Premier League title and the Champions League, but Mikel Arteta and Edu will not be resting on their laurels when the market reopens.

Which wingers are said to be high up on the Arsenal summer transfer wish-list?

One player said to be on the Arsenal radar is Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Pedro Neto, and the long-term Gunners target looks set to be once again in their sights in the summer.

Charles Watts, writing on CaughtOffside earlier this week, said Neto and Nico Williams are likely to be “well ahead of (Donyell) Malen” on the Arsenal summer wish-list.

Another report claimed that Arsenal are leading both Liverpool and Tottenham in the race for the high-flying Portugal international.

Neto has been absolutely incredible for Wolves over the years, a world-class quality who boasts superb footwork, vision, speed and work-rate.

A recent report from Give Me Sport claimed that Arsenal could potentially land him £60million, which is how much Wolves allegedly feel they will realistically get for their asset.

What has Arsenal legend Thierry Henry said about Pedro Neto?

What could also be of particular interest for Arsenal fans is what club legend Thierry Henry has previously said about Neto.

The iconic Frenchman certainly knows a thing or two about giving opposition defenders a truly torrid time, and he reckons the reported Gunners target fits the bill.

Henry told Sky Sports – as transcribed by The Mirror – back in 2021: “I like him a lot.

“Especially the situation that he found himself in with [Raul] Jimenez being injured and Diogo Jota now playing for the other side tonight.

“It’s not easy to have everything on your shoulders. What I like is he’s not scared to beat people on the outside. I like it. He can cross with his right, finish with his left.

“He’s always looking to have a go and attack the defender – always on the front foot.

“It’s not easy to do this at such a young age, in a team where you’re not often in possession and dominating games. I think he’s performed extremely well.”
