Jurgen Klopp promoted a Liverpool youngster in the club’s first team, who was on the books at Manchester United.

One of Jurgen Klopp’s biggest legacy at Liverpool will be the way he has promoted youngsters into the first team. Over the course of his time at Anfield, an abundance of exciting young talent have come through from the club’s academy.

From Trent Alexander-Arnold to Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones. More recently, there is another exciting group of players led by the likes of Conor Bradley and Jarell Quansah as well as Bobby Clark and Jayden Danns.

They very much represent the present and the future for Liverpool. Already all of them are regarded as first-team players, who Klopp himself has described as ‘special.’ But they are just the beginning of a new wave at Anfield.

More youngsters are coming through the ranks, including a 17-year-old who was promoted to first team training recently.

Who trained with Liverpool’s first team on Wednesday?

On Wednesday, Kieran Morrison was spotted training with Liverpool’s first team according to This is Anfield. It was a small team training session, with the club’s players on international duty still absent, alongside.

Morrison trained alongside the likes of Darwin Nunez, Mohamed Salah and Ryan Gravenberch in front of Jurgen Klopp’s watchful eyes.

Only 17-years-old, Morrison was not the only Liverpool youngster who was involved in the training session. Trey Nyoni, Trent Kone-Doherty, James McConnell and Carter Pinnigton also participated in Klopp’s first team training session.

Who is Kieran Morrison and why is he training with Liverpool’s first team?

Morrison is a Northern Ireland youth international who was on the books at Manchester United. However, he joined Liverpool as an U14 player and has made impressive strides since.

He has really burst into form this season at U18 level. Currently, Morrison has 12 goal contributions in 15 games in the U18 Premier League. He has also made his debut for the club’s U21 side in the Premier League 2.

Over the course of the last few weeks he has scored five goals in his last five matches in the U18 Premier League. It’s that form which has probably attracted Jurgen Klopp’s attention.

Morrison is highly rated and capable of playing in midfield and as a winger. He has mostly played as a right-winger for the U18s recently. He is also expected to sign a new contract with Liverpool according to Fabrizio Romano.
