‘Outstanding’ Sunderland man potentially out until 2025

Injuries have not been kind to Sunderland this season. A host of injuries throughout the past couple of months have helped derail the Black Cats campaign and banish them to the middle of the table.

Things have looked up recently for Mike Dodds with Corry Evans, Bradley Dack and Jack Clarke all on the mend.

However, with one step forward, there seems to be another step back. Jenson Seelt, who suffered a knee injury before QPR will now need surgery. This could see him out of action for months on end.

The Championship returns on Friday after a long international break. With the Easter weekend now underway, Sunderland will kick off the last run of their campaign with a trip to Cardiff.

The match will give interim manager Dodds another chance to get his first win since Michael Beale’s sacking after overseeing a horrendous run.

Despite this campaign being a forgettable one at the Stadium of Light, there have still been plenty of moments to shout about.

This has seen fans clamour into the ground to get a view of the first team, especially when it looked like another promotion campaign was on the cards.

Now, this has been recognised with Sunderland sitting ninth for the average attendance in England this season. This puts them above the likes of Chelsea and Everton.
