'I think realistically': Cesc Fabregas predicts who'll win between Man City and Arsenal on Sunday

Manchester City and Arsenal will lock horns on Sunday in what is likely to be one of this season’s defining Premier League clashes.

Pep Guardiola’s Citizens and Mikel Arteta’s Gunners contested a superb title race last season and they’re doing it again this term, alongside Liverpool.

Arsenal currently sit top of the standings on 64 points, but Liverpool are level on points in second and Man City are just a point behind in third.

Neither side could’ve asked for a harder fixture to get the run-in under way after the international break.

But for fans, and enthralling spectacle beckons between two of the best teams on the planet.

Obviously with such a big game looming this weekend, there will be plenty of build-up in the coming days, with the football media previewing and predicting what could happen on the day.

For instance, the popular Planet Premier League podcast – which featured three former stars of Arsenal or Man City – covered the game in detail on their latest episode.

Who does Cesc Fabregas think will win between Manchester City and Arsenal?

When it came to the score prediction, Gunners cult hero Cesc Fabregas backed his former employers to overcome the reigning Premier League champions.

“I think realistically, and I’m just saying,” began Fabregas.

“Based on what I see and what I feel, the perception that I have from both teams… and injuries and doubts or whatever, what I have in my mind is 1-2 to the Arsenal!”

Meanwhile, Highbury icon Emmanuel Petit went for a “dream” 2-1 or 3-2 win for the Gunners, while former Man City ace Nedum Onuoha, unsurprisingly, backed the Citizens to win 2-1.

Manchester City and Arsenal in great form ahead of crunch clash

Both teams are in great form for the game. Manchester City haven’t lost a game since December, while Arsenal have won their last eight in the league and have also progressed in the Champions League.

With the stakes so high between two world-class teams fighting it out for the Premier League, let’s hope for an exciting encounter.

In terms of my prediction, I reckon Arsenal will have just enough to get the better of last season’s treble winners. Let’s go 2-1 to the Gunners.
