'My decision': 'Extraordinary' manager has just confirmed he definitely won't manage Liverpool next season

One of Liverpool’s key managerial targets has just publicly announced he will not be moving to Anfield this summer.

The Reds are all set to bid farewell to Jurgen Klopp at the end of this season. The German announced in January that he will be walking away from the job, and he will be a big miss.

Liverpool have been linked with a number of managers from different parts of Europe, and it is really hard to predict who would be the best option for them.

One ‘extraordinary‘ manager, however, has made it clear he will not be making a move to Liverpool this summer.

Manager confirms he will not join Liverpool

Becoming the Liverpool manager this summer will arguably be the hardest job in football.

Jurgen Klopp has been at Anfield for years, and the German has done an incredible job. He is one of the best managers in the world, and fans are so used to seeing his philosophy week in, week out.

Whoever comes in next will have massive shoes to fill. It’s always extremely difficult to follow an elite manager – just like what happened at Manchester United and Arsenal after Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger left.

Liverpool need to think hard about who their next manager will be, but in what is a big blow to the Reds, their top target has ruled out a move to Anfield this summer.

The rumours since last night have been confirmed by the man himself – Xabi Alonso has publicly stated that he will continue at Bayer Leverkusen next season.

He said, as quoted by Ben Jacobs: “We have had a lot of speculation regarding my future… I wanted to use the international break to reflect and take a decision.

“Last week, I had a very good meeting and informed the club my decision to continue being coach (of Leverkusen).

“This is the right place for me to develop as a coach. I am young coach and right now I feel this is the right place for me. The players have given me so many reasons to continue believing in the team. I feel my job is not over here.”

Liverpool’s two main targets with Xabi Alonso move ruled out

It is clear now – Xabi Alonso is no longer an option for Liverpool this summer.

That is a big blow as it was clear that the Spaniard was their top target to replace Jurgen Klopp, but the good thing for Liverpool is that they have clarity now.

The Reds can move on to their other targets, and the two big names on their wish list are Roberto De Zerbi and Ruben Amorim.

Reports have revealed that De Zerbi is on top of Michael Edwards’ wish list, but Amorim is set to receive an interview as well because of how highly he has scored in Liverpool’s data tests.
