Leicester City predicted XI, team and injury news as Wout Faes axed v Norwich City

Leicester City prepare to play host to play-off hopefuls Norwich City on Monday afternoon at King Power Stadium.

Following their 1-0 defeat at Bristol City on Friday, Enzo Maresca‘s side will kick off the match in third place.

Ipswich Town’s 1-0 win at Blackburn moved them to the summit of the table, albeit having played a game more.

Whilst Leeds United gained a point on The Foxes after fighting back to secure a thrilling 2-2 draw against Watford.

The West Yorkshire outfit have also played a game more, so as it stands, the title is still in Leicester‘s hands.

Ahead of the Norwich clash, Leicester City News has provided all the latest team and injury news, as well as predicting the starting line-up.

Kasey McAteer is expected to miss the clash with a hamstring injury whilst Tom Cannon and Ben Nelson are doubtful.

McAteer hasn’t featured since February after picking up the same injury which sidelined him throughout most of October and December.

Meanwhile, Cannon and Nelson picked up knocks during the international break, though, aren’t expected to be long-term absentees.

In goal, the ever-reliable Mads Hermansen is expected to retain his place in the sticks.

We could see a number of changes in the back four, though, with Wout Faes potentially making way for veteran defender Conor Coady. Faes was well off the pace at Ashton Gate and may need a rest.

Callum Doyle could also find himself back in the eleven in place of James Justin, who hasn’t performed to his usual standard of late. Ricardo Pereira is back from injury, so Hamza Choudhury is expected to drop to the bench.

Moving into midfield, we could see a trio of Wilfred Ndidi, Harry Winks and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, with Abdul Fatawu, Kelechi Iheanacho and Stephy Mavididi forming the attack in front.

Jamie Vardy, who turned 37 in January, simply can’t play every game and will need a rest with such a quick turnaround.

He also missed a number of big chances on Friday, so perhaps, anyhow, Iheanacho deserves a chance to impress from the first whistle.

The Nigerian international provides The Foxes with something a little different, as he naturally likes to drop deep and create chances for others, which could free up space for Mavididi and Fatawu.

Leicester City (4-3-3): Hermansen; Ricardo, Coady, Vestergaard, Doyle; Ndidi, Winks, Dewsbury-Hall; Fatawu, Iheanacho, Mavididi.
