'We have' – Man Utd's standout performer vs Brentford breaks silence and makes telling Premier League prediction

Manchester United star Andre Onana has made his prediction for the club’s season after the Red Devils secured a 1-1 Premier League draw against Brentford on Saturday.

Erik ten Hag’s men thought they had snatched all three Premier League points after substitute Mason Mount broke the deadlock deep into injury time against Brentford.

However, Manchester United were unable to hold on to their lead and Kristoffer Ajer cancelled out Mason Mount’s opener with a crucial equaliser for Brentford.

United’s 1-1 draw at the Gtech Community Stadium has left their hopes of a top-four Premier League finish in a precarious situation.

Erik ten Hag’s side are currently sixth in the Premier League table and United are eight points behind fifth-place Tottenham in the race for the top four this season.

Aston Vila, on the other hand, are fourth in the table and hold an 11-point lead over United, despite playing one more match over the Red Devils.

Ten Hag needs his side to secure as many points as possible from their remaining nine league matches, all the while hoping for Aston Vila and Tottenham slip-up.

However, the United boss has two upcoming Premier League clashes that could effectively thwart the Red Devils’ top-four ambitions once and for all.

The Red Devils will travel to Stamford Bridge on Thursday for their clash with Chelsea before welcoming rivals Liverpool to Old Trafford on Sunday.

Onana on Man Utd prediction after Brentford draw

Despite conceding in injury time against Brentford, Andre Onana was arguably Manchester United’s best performer on the night at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The 27-year-old Cameroonian was solid between the sticks for United and produced important saves to keep the Red Devils in the contest against Brentford.

Andre Onana, who impressed United fans with his performance, has now spoken out after Brentford avoided a late defeat to the Red Devils on the weekend.

The United No 1 said that top four remains a top objective for his side in the league, but Onana admitted that he is only ‘hopeful’ that the Red Devils will achieve it.

“The most important thing is the victory of the team,” Onana explained, as per Manchester United’s official website.

“It’s good when you contribute and you have a victory. Of course, we didn’t lose this game, but the way we conceded that goal is bad for all of us because we are in this together. We blocked shots and made saves together. It’s difficult.

“As a leader and experienced player, we have to take responsibility and always stay positive because it’s the biggest club in the country.

“We have to continue working hard, be humble, and I know we will stick together because we did it in the last month. I hope we end in the top four.”

Onana talks Brentford vs Man Utd result

While Onana refused to rule out a top-four finish for United, the Cameroon international admitted that he was “sad” that the Brentford match ended in a draw.

“I feel sad because we are Manchester United, so it doesn’t matter who you play,” he said.

“Everywhere we go, we have to win. We gave away this game in the end.

“We did a fantastic job defending – it was not our best game – but the most important thing was to win. So, yeah, it’s difficult.”
