'Class act' was 'robbed' of place in talent show's Top 24, say 'unhappy' fans

Since kicking off in February, American Idol has seen all kinds of talented acts take to the stage. Singers from all over the USA compete in season 22 in the hopes of becoming the next Carrie Underwood or Kelly Clarkson. Sadly, one contestant lost out on their chances of making the Top 24 and fans are fuming about it.

Fighting for a spot in the Top 24 this year, the American Idol contestants sang their hearts out covering tracks from The Beatles, Cher, and more legendary artists. While some are apparently totally deserving of their spot in the next round of the hit talent show, some super “unhappy” fans are airing their thoughts on one singer who they say was “robbed.”

Ziggy had hopes of American Idol’s Top 24

After auditioning in Los Angeles, Ziggy, who hails from Gorredijk, The Netherlands, got three ‘yeses’ from the judges.

The singer’s future was looking bright as he’d already had success in other talent shows. He also was crowned the winner of Good Luck Guys season 1.

Unfortunately, going head to head with Mackenzie Sol, it was Ziggy who missed out on the chance at moving forward into the Top 24.

American Idol fans weren’t shy when it came to expressing their thoughts on Ziggy missing out on a spot in the Top 24.

Many took to a Reddit thread to share their disappointment, writing: “Ziggy should have gotten in over Blake…”

More said: “ZIGGY NOT IN THE TOP 24 is Unbelievable! HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL OF THEM!”

Others described Ziggy as a “class act” and more said he was “robbed.”

Another said: “Yeah, I probably would’ve chosen Ziggy over Jennifer Jeffries or KBlock. Other than that, no real complaints. Would’ve liked seeing Alyssa Raghu, but I’m not mad about KB getting the nod over her.”

However, some took to another thread, which saw fans commenting along live with the show, to say the opposite. One wrote: “I appreciate Ziggy, but he shouldn’t have made it this far.”
