'At times' - Brentford manager claims one Man Utd star can be 'unplayable,' despite making very little impact in Premier League tie

Thomas Frank has insisted that one Manchester United star is “unplayable” at times, despite having very little impact against Brentford in the 1-1 draw on Saturday.

Manchester United walked away with only a point from their Premier League tie at the Gtech Community Stadium, with Erik ten Hag’s men falling short in their display.

Mason Mount came off the bench and scored deep in injury time after United broke the deadlock against Brentford in their first match since the international break.

However, Thomas Frank’s men rallied back and Kristoffer Ajer scored the all-important equaliser for Brentford in the dying stages of the match.

United largely unimpressed with their performance against Brentford, with Thomas Frank’s side having a whopping 31 shots against the Red Devils in the match.

Erik ten Hag was also dealt a major blow in United’s ambitions to secure Champions League football for next season after dropping costly points again this season.

United have a tough run of fixtures in early April, with the Red Devils travelling away to Chelsea on Thursday before hosting Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Red Devils are now 11 points behind fourth-place Aston Villa with only nine league matches remaining, with fifth-place Tottenham eight points clear of them.

Frank picks out three Man Utd stars

Speaking after the Manchester United match, Brentford manager Thomas Frank admitted that the Red Devils’ strength is in attack when they are in form.

Frank insisted that United winger Alejandro Garnacho can be “unplayable” at times, despite his little impact at the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday.

Alejandro Garnacho had a forgettable match for United and Erik ten Hag withdrew the winger and replaced him with Antony only 59 minutes into the clash.

Frank also spotlighted United forward Marcus Rashford and Denmark striker Rasmus Hojlund in his thoughts about the Red Devils’ front three.

“We beat Manchester United 4-0 [at home in the league] last season, but I thought we performed better today,” he said, as per the Manchester Evening News.

“It was our best of the season. We faced United… they’ve been in form and their front three [is great].

“At times, Garnacho [is] unplayable, [Marcus] Rashford back to a good level and [also Rasmus] Hojlund.”

Frank claims Brentford should have beaten Man Utd

Brentford have managed only two draws in their last seven Premier League matches, with Frank’s men only five points clear of the relegation zone.

Frank insisted there should have been “only one winner” from the match on Saturday and was shocked at how Brentford did not beat United on the night.

“There should have been only one winner, that could only be us,” he told Sky Sports.

“Then you go 1-0 down in the 96th minute and you think football is brutal. I almost lost faith in the football God but he gave a bit back. What a performance.

“We completely dominated the game and there could only be one winner. How we didn’t win is incredible.”
