What Ange Postecoglou did against Luton Town

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou displayed a clear signal of intent against Luton Town as he took off Dejan Kulusevski for Brennan Johnson. The winger went on to contribute twice in the second half for a huge victory.

A move at half-time appeared clear as journalist Alasdair Gold revealed on YouTube: “There was a moment when, you could tell it was coming, as soon as Jarred Gillett the referee put the whistle to his lips and blew for half-time, Ange Postecoglou turned to Brennan Johnson, pointed to him essentially saying, ‘get ready you’re coming on.’ He’d seen enough, he’d had enough.

“Kulusevski just kept doing, we’ve spoken about this before, he has this habit of – a far too predictable habit – cutting inside. Naturally, because he is a left-footed player playing on the right and you could just see it was bunching up the players in the middle of the pitch.”

Tottenham transfer exit

While incomings are often discussed before the transfer window, Tottenham are also looking at possible outgoings in the coming months. Some of those are likely to be on the loan front, with a number of promising players looking for guaranteed minutes.

One star linked with a temporary exit is Alejo Veliz, with Spurs drawing up plans for his next destination. Fabrizio Romano said on the striker: “Tottenham are preparing new loan with different plan for Alejo Veliz for next season as he’s not playing at Sevilla.

“Spurs want guaranteed game time for Alejo for next year as discussions will follow in the upcoming months. Veliz, set to return from Sevilla in any case.”

Veliz has made just three appearances for Sevilla since securing a loan switch in the January transfer window.
