What Mauricio Pochettino said after Chelsea’s draw with Burnley that should leave fans fuming – opinion

Chelsea saw yet another chance to climb up the table go to waste on Saturday, however this time they will likely be more embarrassed by the circumstances than ever before.

After twice leading against 10-men Burnley, they were forced to leave Stamford Bridge with only a point from a game against a side almost guaranteed to be relegated.

Cole Palmer’s brilliance from the spot, as well as his composed finish in the second half, were not enough for the Blues on Saturday.

Palmer continues to star for Chelsea

It has been a similar story for the majority of the campaign as far as Chelsea are concerned. The England international’s double moved him onto 30 goals and assists in all competitions this season.

This doesn’t seem to have been lost on manager Mauricio Pochettino, who seemed to admit after the game that at times the Blues simply run out of ideas and give him the ball to try and make something happen, according to the Mail Online.

Chelsea fans should be fuming at Pochettino comments

For many Chelsea fans who have been closely observing their club over the last two years or so, this may well be a kick in the teeth after seeing the players he has available for him to use.

A lot has been made of the performances of the likes of Enzo Fernandez this season, however the question does need to be asked as to whether the coaching of a World Cup winner has been good enough.

In fact, there are a number of players in the current squad who supporters still believe the best could be got out of, instead of a manager admitting his side are relying solely on a player in his first real campaign as a first teamer.

The likes of Mykhailo Mudryk were expected to improve greatly under Pochettino, however his lack of regular gametime in favour of an underperforming Raheem Sterling has also raised question marks.

The Argentine is already skating very thin ice as far as some Chelsea fans are concerned, and his latest comments could well have pushed some over the edge.
