All six seasons of Sex And The City have just been added to major streamer, and it's not Max

HBO is known for delivering prestigious TV, with such revered shows as The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, The Wire, Game Of Thrones, and more under the network’s belt. In the 2000s they were becoming fast-established for the highest quality content, and it wasn’t all just sincere, straight-faced dramas on the box—no, not at all. HBO knew how to have fun too, and you’re not going to have more fun than spending the night with Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda. Lucky for you, it’s never been easier.

Sex And The City is streaming on Netflix

All six seasons of Sex And The City were added to the Netflix library on Monday, April 1st 2024, getting both the week and the month off to the most fabulous start imaginable.

Premiering on HBO with its first season in 1998, the show went on to run for six seasons up until its conclusion in 2004, cementing it as one of the network’s most popular and beloved shows.

A phenomenon, it remains a cultural cornerstone of early 2000s TV, winning multiple awards from Golden Globes to Emmys, loved by both critics and audiences too.

Adapting Candace Bushnell’s newspaper column and 1996 book of the same name, the romantic-comedy drama follows four women in New York who remain tight-knit despite their many differences and contrasting attitudes to all aspects of life.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall’s performances are legendary at this point, and to say fans are happy to begin binging all over again would be the understatement of the year. “OMG, grab your cosmos and Manolos,” a fan tweeted upon seeing the news. “About time,” another chimed in.

It’s not just people who have seen it before who are excited to dig in either. “Gonna see what the hype is about,” one reacted—but be warned, it’s thoroughly addictive TV. Clear your schedules.

What to watch after Sex And The City series

The hangover after season 6 wrapped up the series in 2004 would have been all too real, but fortunately for you, that’s not something you’ll have to deal with because there’s other stuff to check out.

Four years after the final season, Sex And The City: The Movie was released and saw the four friends reunite in a feature-length treat for the fans. It’s now streaming on Max and Hulu. Its 2010 sequel, on the other hand, is available to rent on Amazon Prime Video from $3.79 and catches up with the four on a trip to Abu Dhabi.

But there’s more. Although a seventh season of Sex And The City never materialized, the next best thing did. The revival and sequel series And Just Like That… premiered in 2021 and there are two seasons you can check out on Max, bringing back fan favorites and introducing some exciting new cast additions.

Once you start watching season 1 on Netflix, that’s only the beginning. Enjoy!
