N.J. couple charged in marijuana growing operation to remain jailed

A state Superior Court judge has ordered a Lacey Township couple charged in connection with an alleged marijuana growing operation remain jailed until trial, the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said.

John Vincentini and his wife, Karen Vincentini, both 64, were ordered to be held in the Ocean County Jail on Tuesday before Superior Court Judge Kimarie Rahill, according to a news release. The couple is charged with money laundering, manufacturing more than 5 pounds of marijuana, and two counts of possession of a weapon.

In March, authorities were informed of the alleged pot production when neighbors told police that marijuana had been delivered to their home in a repurposed Amazon box, police previously reported.

Officials then got a search warrant and found 10 pounds of marijuana, 15 marijuana plants, drug paraphernalia, two assault firearms, a rifle-style BB gun, and approximately $150,000 in cash in a home of the Vincentinis.
