Sophia Umansky has quickly become a fan favorite since joining Buying Beverly Hills season 2. The reality TV star and realtor keeps it real throughout the all-new episodes and viewers can’t wait to see her return. She explains during the show how she’s had “anxiety” her whole life and is “scared” of everything.
While some fans said they weren’t getting “shy” vibes from Sophie during Buying Beverly Hills season 2 on a Reddit thread. But, more could see how she has a lot of “similarities to her mom,” and appears to “put on an act to cover her anxieties.” Whatever the case, Netflix viewers adore her personality and many think she’s “iconic.”
Sophia’s lifelong battle with anxiety
Buying Beverly Hills season 2 welcomes Sophia to the family business.
She’s almost immediately become a fan-favorite for her “iconic” personality, and she’s unafraid to keep it real with viewers.
Speaking during a confessional, Sophia says she’s “had anxiety her whole life.”
She adds: “I’m scared of everything. I’m scared of bugs, I’m scared of the dark, some foods scare me. I’m scared of people, like when I’m in public in CVS I think everyone is following me. Being on a plane is scary, real estate is scary.”
Netflix fans question if ‘it’s an act’
Buying Beverly Hills returned this Spring and Sophia’s introduction had her family members explaining how they’re all “scared” of her.
However, it turns out Sophia is actually “scared of everything” and lacked confidence, “especially when it came to boys.”
Some scenes of the show see Sophia ask her father, Mauricio Umansky, why she needs to earn her own money “when she could just use his.”
He says: “You just can’t. You have to start earning your own money.”
At another point in filming the Netflix show, Sophia says: “I guess I could be doing more without being asked but because I’m new, I’m scared to do anything without being asked.”
This had some viewers taking to a Reddit thread to say: “I actually watched it all and I don’t think Sophia came across as quiet, reserved, shy or self-conscious…”
However, another replied: “…I think it’s a bit of an act to cover her deep insecurities and anxiety…”
