20-year-old Chelsea player now named a more promising youngster than Kobbie Mainoo

One Chelsea youngster has now been ranked as one of the best up and coming players in world football right now.

This is according to a list compiled by ESPN, who actually rate the Blues man above promising Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo.

Mainoo has proven to be one of the breakout stars of the season in the Premier League, and he will almost certainly be part of the side who start against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge tomorrow night.

Despite the Blues’ poor season, it has been clear to see that they have a number of promising youngsters available to them, however it seems as if one will not be available for tomorrow’s game.

Is Malo Gusto injured?

Malo Gusto was forced off with an injury at the end of the embarrassing 2-2 draw against Burnley at the weekend, with that threatening to be the worst moment of what was mostly a nightmare of an afternoon.

The Frenchman has enjoyed a really strong first campaign at the club after his loan away last season, and has seen the club not feel the effects of the recent Reece James injury too hard.

Gusto ranked as more promising youngster than Mainoo

This seems to have been noticed by those around the game too, with a list put together of the top Under 21 stars seeing him ranked even higher than Mainoo.

It remains to be seen if Gusto makes the squad for tomorrow night, with him being spotted as part of the players working in the gym in preparation for the match.

The Blues actually do not have far to climb if they were looking to finish in the European places at the end of this season, however a turnaround of results is imperative and fast.

This can start tomorrow against United, with a strong finish to the campaign seen as very important in order to keep Mauricio Pochettino in his job for next season.
