Deluded David Moyes has just got way ahead of himself with nasty twist lurking around the corner

Deluded West Ham United boss David Moyes made some really baffling comments after last night’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham.

West Ham couldn’t quite get the win over Spurs in the end, but deluded David Moyes made a really strange comment about the result in my view.

Moyes didn’t make any substitutions during the game – he admitted after the match that he didn’t believe anyone on his bench could have made an impact.

I was fine with him not making any changes last night actually. I thought we looked very dangerous all game, and easily could have won it late on.

Overall it was a very solid performance from the boys after the shocking collapse up at Newcastle on Saturday.

The display from the West Ham players put to bed accusations that they had given up against the Toon. However, I believe that Moyes’s post match remarks regarding the Spurs performance were greatly exaggerated…

Deluded David Moyes has just got way ahead of himself

The Scot addressed the media late last night after the 1-1 draw with our bitter rivals Spurs at the London Stadium.

There’s no denying that each and every player gave 100% in the London Derby, but it was far from a perfect performance.

And Moyes made rather baffling remarks after the match, as quoted by WHUFC.com:

“We’ve moved on from Saturday with this performance and result. The response is down to the players, who stood up to be counted tonight. They took a bit of ownership, which is what I asked for, and they were tougher in a lot of the opportunities and challenges.”

Now, as solid as the performance was against Spurs, in no way has it made up for the shambolic final 20 minutes away at Newcastle four days ago.

The only way the boys will make up for that showing is by beating Wolves and Fulham in our next two Premier League games.

The display against Spurs was certainly a huge improvement on what we saw against the Toon, but deluded David Moyes has definitely over-egged it with his comments suggesting that the St James’ Park capitulation has been put to bed now.

There is a long way to go before those demons will be completely banished. We have tough games against Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City to come, and if we don’t pick up wins against the teams we should be beating, we may well come unstuck this season.
