Mauricio Pochettino gives response when asked about Todd Boehly's comments on Chelsea

Mauricio Pochettino has today reacted to the recent comments made by Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly after Sunday’s draw against Burnley.

Chelsea returned after the international break with a very frustrating 2-2 draw at home to Burnley in the Premier League.

The Blues dropped yet more league points in the league, so they now currently sit 12th in the table.

Head coach Mauricio Pochettino is certainly struggling to find any consistency with this side. In particular, the defence has fallen apart by conceding twice in each of the previous five consecutive matches across all competitions.

What Todd Boehly said after Burnley draw

Todd Boehly, the Chelsea co-owner, has delivered his opinion this week on all the frustration from the fanbase at what’s happening at the club right now.

He’s insisted that more patience is needed to let the process develop.

Speaking via Forbes, Boehly said: “We just need to let the process develop and give them the time to go from being unbelievable individual players with great skills to fold into a team.

“The good news is people care so much. And the bad news is people care so much. That leads to times when they’re frustrated with the team and the owners. I get that, but we just have to continue to stay the course.”

Mauricio Pochettino responds

The Chelsea manager has responded today to the opinion from the ownership.

When asked what he thinks about Boehly’s recent comments, Pochettino responded via BBC Sport (1:13pm, 3 April): “I never talk about the owners, nothing to say about that. Because they are entitled to talk in the way they want, that is why they are the owners of the club. What I can say is thank you, to show the trust and support. That is the most important thing. The players need support from our bosses.”

It certainly doesn’t feel to us like Stamford Bridge is a nice place to be right now, with pressure only cranking up from every angle.

There’s no surprise to hear Pochettino not really engage with the owner’s off the pitch talk. Instead, his priority must be to somehow find a consistent formula for his squad.
