Tottenham have recently done something which no other Premier League team has for 30 matches

Tottenham Hotspur have now become the only club to do something over the last 30 games in the Premier League.

Ange Postecoglou may feel his side left points in east London on Tuesday night as Spurs only walked away from the London Stadium with a draw.

Given their recent games away to the Irons, it was by no means a disastrous result, however, Spurs really could have done with all three points for their top four pursuit.

But on the back of the results in the Premier League last night, Spurs maintained a recent record which has now surpassed 30 games.

What Tottenham have done which no other side has done recently

It has been a real mixed bag of results for the Lilywhites in recent weekend with an emphatic victory against Aston Villa followed up with a defeat, a win and then a draw.

Ahead of Villa’s game tonight against Manchester City, Spurs sit just two points adrift of Unai Emery’s men.

Spurs will be hoping for a big favour from Pep Guardiola’s title-chasers and will end the night with a game in hand on Villa.

But it was their victory against Villa last month which is the subject of a recent statistic to emerge.

Tottenham were able to put their Champions League rivals to the sword in an emphatic 4-0 victory in their own back yard.

And according to former England goalkeeper David James, that victory at Villa Park was the only away win from a Premier League side in the last 30 games.

What Ange Postecoglou said after failing to beat West Ham

Three points would have been massive in Tottenham’s push for a spot in the top four with Aston Villa not in action until tonight.

The expectation will be for Manchester City to take all three points from Villa given they are playing in front of their own crowd.

However, Villa have already taken three points off City earlier in the season, so it is by no means going to be a comfortable win for the reigning champions.

And if Villa are able to take three points off City, it will certainly put the pressure on Spurs ahead of the run in.

Following the game against West Ham, Postecoglou insisted he was pleased with what he saw from his side.

He said: “I just don’t think about it. I am always looking…. is it progress for us as a team? Is that a performance tonight that shows we’re developing? I thought it was. We certainly handled it better than, say, we did at Fulham a few weeks back where in a similar type of game, we just didn’t handle it well.”

Having stunned the league with their victory over Villa last month, Spurs have spluttered along since with some really underwhelming results.

The defeat to Fulham was a real shock and a game which Spurs will want back, but now they find themselves relying on others to take points off their rivals.

Three points for City tonight and Spurs will still determine their own destiny, but they also have the likes of City, Arsenal and Liverpool all to play.
