4-2-3-1: Manchester United predicted XI vs Chelsea, Ten Hag makes three changes for must win game

Manchester United will be back in Premier League action on Thursday night at Stamford Bridge, here’s our predicted line-up.

Erik ten Hag will be furious and left puzzled as to where his side’s momentum went on Saturday in a 1-1 draw with Brentford.

Manchester United should’ve been on a real high going into that game, having beaten Liverpool in the previous game, along with some injury returns.

But from minute one, it was completely flat.

It looked like the team was right back to square one, and hadn’t played together in two years, not two weeks.

Dropping those two points could prove costly come the end of this season, especially with how close United were to winning, as Mason Mount‘s 96th-minute strike looked to have done it.

This has made Thursday’s game against Chelsea an absolute must-win, so here’s our predicted line-up.

Manchester United predicted line-up vs Chelsea

The game against Chelsea has become a must-win, should United want to keep dreams of Champions League qualification alive.

For this reason, we expect Ten Hag to go with a strong lineup.

This starts in goal, with Andre Onana continuing as he’s been probably the club’s standout over the past few weeks. He has kept United in touching distance of the Champions League.

At right-back, we’ve gone with Diogo Dalot who is right now probably the player of the season for United. While on the left, Aaron Wan-Bissaka continues but will need to improve after Peter Schmeichel slammed him vs Brentford.

At centre-back, we are still reeling from the double injury blow to Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof which sees both out for a month. So with Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane back in training, this is how we see the backline looking.

Moving into midfield, despite an off night against Brentford Kobbie Mainoo should start, and after an invisible outing on Saturday, Scott McTominay makes way for Casemiro.

Ahead of these two, Amad Diallo returns after his suspension on the right replacing the rested Alejandro Garnacho, a much-deserved start after his goal vs Liverpool.

Bruno Fernandes then starts at the No. 10 position as you’d expect. While on the left, Marcus Rashford starts over Mason Mount who Ten Hag has hinted won’t be ready to start.

In the striker position, Rasmus Hojlund will start in a bid to put Saturday behind him and get back amongst the goals.
