'Actually': Jack Grealish now names the 'toughest' game he played for Man City last season - not the UCL final

Jack Grealish has named the toughest game he played for Manchester City last season.

Grealish was an integral member of City’s starting lineups, as he made the left-wing position his own as he went on to win the treble.

Naturally, the £100 million man played in several challenging games.

For instance, in the Champions League, Jack Grealish was tasked with the responsibility of playing against teams of the stature of Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Inter Milan later on in the competition.

In the Premier League as well, the 28-year-old started in several big games, such as in City’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

However, Grealish was arguably the standout performer for the Sky Blues in their 4-1 victory against the Reds at the Etihad Stadium, with Alvarez, De Bruyne and Gundogan also on the score sheet.

On most occasions, the former Aston Villa captain managed to cover himself in glory, proving time and again why he belongs at the highest level.

In his debut season at the Etihad Stadium, such a claim could not be made about Grealish, especially against the top sides.

Joining City from Villa, one of the treble-winner’s biggest challenges was showing that against the best teams in the country and across Europe, he could deliver.

However, that is easier said than done for even a player who possesses the decorated attacker’s level of skill.

Last season, Jack Grealish named the contest against Arsenal away from home in which Manchester City won 3-1 as the most difficult game he played.

“At the Emirates away, it was tough. Probably the toughest game I played this season actually”, he said on the third episode of Netflix’s Together: Treble Winners.

Alongside Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish was on the score sheet for Manchester City against Arsenal.

A lot was riding on the Arsenal game for Grealish and Co.

While it was a happy ending for Jack Grealish as he scored the winner for Manchester City against Arsenal, the weight of expectations heading into the game was massive.

City were chasing the Gunners and it felt like they needed to make a statement.

The visitors were travelling to the Emirates Stadium three points behind the hosts while having played one more Premier League game.

While Grealish and Co. did the business against Arteta’s side, they went on to drop points in a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.

During the contest, Arsenal did dominate proceedings during the first half, with the game tied at 1-1, which made the game challenging for Jack Grealish and his teammates.

But the England international helped his side lay down a marker during the late kick-off.
