Kai Havertz did one thing for Arsenal v Luton that he never managed at Chelsea

After the win over Luton Town on Wednesday, Kai Havertz has now achieved one thing as an Arsenal player that he never managed at Chelsea.

Kai Havertz has grown into the Arsenal team this season.

The Gunners paid £65 million to prise Havertz away from Chelsea in the recent summer transfer window. Upon his arrival at the Emirates Stadium, he looked to be desperately short of confidence and he did not look comfortable in Mikel Arteta’s tactical system.

Havertz came in for plenty of criticism early on in his Arsenal career. However, as the campaign has progressed, he has slowly played his way into form and is now a key fixture in the regular starting XI.

Kai Havertz shines brighter for Arsenal than Chelsea after Luton contribution

In recent weeks Havertz has shone as a striker, and he has enjoyed a decent season in terms of end product for the Gunners. Whilst he did not score in the north London club’s 2-0 win over Luton Town at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday evening, the 24-year-old did pick up an assist as he set up club captain Martin Odegaard to bag the game’s opening goal.

In the Premier League this season, Havertz has now provided twelve goal contributions in total, coming in the form of eight goals and four assists. As reported by Squawka, this means that he has now racked up more goal contributions in his first campaign on the books at Arsenal than he did in any of his three seasons with the Blues.

Havertz has silenced his critics this season, and Arteta will be expecting him to keep on playing an important role, and making a positive impact in the final third, for Arsenal during the run-in.

Arsenal will look to Kai Havertz to make impact in run-in

This really is crunch time in the Premier League, and with pressure mounting and the games coming thick and fast, Arsenal will need to hold their nerve as they seek to beat Manchester City and Liverpool to the Premier League title. They will also need someone to stand up and deliver in the vital moments. As a “big game player,” Havertz may well prove to be the individual who comes through for the Gunners when it really counts.

Having secured another vital three points against the Hatters, Arsenal are now back in pole position in the Premier League. However, Liverpool will retake top spot if they beat Sheffield United tomorrow.

All attention in north London will now turn to Saturday’s trip to face Brighton and Hove Albion, where Arsenal must find a way to win again.
