Report: Teenager compared to Bukayo Saka could quit Manchester United as doubts grow over contract stand-off

Manchester United face some huge decisions this summer with Ineos leaving no stone unturned in their quest to get the club back on track.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe face the biggest decision of all with Erik ten Hag’s future in some doubt.

The Dutchman hasn’t built on a promising first season and the performance levels throughout the season just haven’t been good enough.

Ineos must also make decisions on the football structure at the club with the likes of Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox wanted.

Then we come to players with question marks surrounding the likes of Casemiro, Raphael Varane and Christian Eriksen.

All three of those players are experienced performers who may just find that they don’t really fit into a potential youth movement under Ineos.

Ratcliffe and co would love to develop talent through the United system but could be in danger of losing a young talent.

Manchester United talent could leave

Not everybody can become Marcus Rashford or Kobbie Mainoo, progressing from the youth setup into becoming a first-team star.

Many other talents have to leave United in search of first-team action and we have seen so many young players leave the club over the last year.

Zidane Iqbal, Teden Mengi and Charlie Savage spring to mind and one United talent could now walk away from the club.

Manchester World report that United are still in a ‘stand-off’ over a potential new deal for Omari Forson.

The 19-year-old is out of contract this summer and could leave United amid ‘growing doubts’ about his future at Old Trafford.

It’s stated that Forson has been close to signing a new contract on a number of occasions but there is still no agreement in place.

That means United seemingly fear losing Forson with his contract now inside the final three months.

Who is Omari Forson?

Forson hails from London and was in the West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur academies before heading to United in 2019.

Primarily a right-sided winger who loves to cut inside on his left foot, Forson has actually been compared to Arsenal star Bukayo Saka by Tom Huddlestone.

Forson has hit three goals and one assist in five Premier League 2 appearances this season.

First-team chances have been hard to come by with Forson only playing five times for United at senior level.

Forson was handed a start against Fulham in February but wasn’t really able to show his full quality.

European clubs are understood to be keen on Forson and if United can’t guarantee first-team chances moving forward, he may well decide to try his luck elsewhere.
