All the current top Wolves stories including, Gary O’Neil shares Fosun conversation; injury update and another potential debut on the way.

Gary O’Neil frustrated with lack of depth

Wolves season looks like it may well peter out. Despite things looking so bright just a few months back, a series of injuries to O’Neil’s first team have caused performances to drop.

The Molineux side are now without a win in their last three games. This includes a shock defeat to Coventry in the FA Cup quarter-final.

With Europe now looking out of reach, O’Neil expressed his frustration that Fosun were unable to bring in a striker in January. He stated that the owners ‘refused’ to spend a small amount of money to bring in a seasoned Premier League number nine.

Regarding the fitness of the squad, currently, Wolves have four players out. Pedro Neto, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Hwang Hee-Chan and Craig Dawson are all on the sidelines. However, it seems as if the latter two are closing in on a return.

After the Burnley result, O’Neil confirmed that Hwang and Dawson are in contention for Saturday’s game against West Ham.

With so few options up top, O’Neil has been trying multiple tactics to help the attacking line. Firstly, youngster Nathan Fraser was thrown into the deep end as a striker and now Leon Chiwome is being utilised in this same position.

This was once again on show against Burnley with the visitors looking blunt in attack and little working.

Now, it seems O’Neil may try something different yet again as he has teased the debut of Noha Lemina soon. The youngster has been on the bench a few times, with O’Neil confirming that he is waiting for the ‘right moment’ to play him.
