'Don't know how to say this': Gary Neville admits he's really worried about 26-year-old Man United player

Gary Neville has admitted he’s really ‘worried’ about one Manchester United player at the moment.

It’s been a difficult campaign for Manchester United so far, with Erik ten Hag struggling to build on a promising debut season.

United currently sit sixth in the Premier League, nine points behind Tottenham in fifth and 11 off fourth-placed Aston Villa.

Ten Hag’s men will have the chance to close that gap tonight as they travel to Chelsea. But there’s no getting away from the fact this season has been an underwhelming one so far.

A few players have struggled to produce their best form this term and Marcus Rashford certainly falls into that category.

After netting 30 goals in all competitions last season, the Englishman has managed just eight this time around.

It’s led to the likes of Joe Cole calling for Rashford to miss out on England’s Euro 2024 squad.

Now, United legend Gary Neville has explained why he’s worried about Rashford at the moment.

Neville concerned about Rashford

Speaking on The Overlap’s Stick To Football, Neville admitted that he feels Rashford just isn’t happy at United right now.

“Marcus Rashford, I don’t know how to say this, but there is something not right,” Neville said. “He’s not right. And it’s not just a case of he’s not playing football well. He doesn’t look happy. And I’m looking at him thinking I actually am worried about him.

“You know when you watch a player and you think there is something there, you know there has been a couple of incidents this season, he’s under pressure, his form is bad, we know that, but I look at him and think that’s not right that.

“I genuinely would worry about him at this moment in time because it’s not a lad who has grown up with the spirit and freedom of playing for Man United as a kid.”

Rashford stats for United this season

Just last season, Rashford managed 41 goal involvements in all competitions under Ten Hag’s guidance.

It was his best campaign to date in a United shirt but his form has dipped significantly this season.

Indeed, the forward has netted just eight times and provided six assists in all competitions.

His form will certainly be a cause for concern for United and claims were made just last month that ‘all is not well’ between Rashford and Ten Hag.
