‘I do actually think’: Jamie Carragher has predicted the score of Liverpool’s game vs Man Utd on Sunday

Liverpool face Manchester United this weekend in what could well be a decisive game in the title race.

The Reds may well go into that game sitting pretty at the top of the league if they beat Sheffield United on Thursday evening and other results go their way on Saturday.

Of course, Liverpool go into this game as favourites after a string of poor performances from Manchester United recently, but as we all know by now, anything can happen in these derby games.

United bloodied Liverpool’s noses in the FA Cup last month, and the Merseyside club will be looking to take an element of revenge out on their rivals this weekend.

This match is tough to call, but, as ever, Jamie Carragher has stuck his neck on the line and given his verdict on how this game will go.

The pundit gave his verdict on how this match will go on the Stick to Football Podcast.

“Is this Liverpool’s toughest game left would you say?” Carragher was asked.

“Yeah, yeah, 2-1 Liverpool. I do actually think that will be the score,” Carragher said.

Liverpool would take it

A 2-1 win wouldn’t be as historic as a 5-0 or a 7-0 as we’ve seen in recent years, but make no mistake about it, Liverpool would bite your hand off if they were offered a 2-1 win ahead of this weekend.

At this point of the season, points on the board are all that matters, whether it’s stylish or it’s ugly, it all counts the same.

There’s a Premier League title on the line for Jurgen Klopp’s side, and they need to find a way to beat United this weekend by any means necessary.

This wouldn’t be a bad result for Liverpool, that’s for sure.
