'I think': Jamie Carragher claims Tottenham have a player who he thinks is much better than Marcus Rashford

Jamie Carragher has now claimed that one Tottenham Hotspur player is much better than Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.

Having played as early as Tuesday in this midweek round of games, Ange Postecoglou will already have his focus on Saturday’s tie with Nottingham Forest.

The Tottenham boss has some key decisions to make, needing to choose just two of Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski.

In truth, it would be a surprise if Postecoglou decided against bringing in Richarlison up top, a focal point who could really benefit the team.

And although there’s often talk of Spurs signing a new winger or striker in the summer, when they should have considerable money to spend, that would lead to a very bloated front line.

Perhaps players will leave – Werner may not even sign permanently, there’s decisions to be made.

That being said, Jamie Carragher has been speaking about Marcus Rashford’s ability and made a few Premier League comparisons on the ‘Stick to Football’ podcast recently.

Jamie Carragher believes Tottenham captain Son Heung-min is miles better than Marcus Rashford

Speaking on the podcast, Carragher suggested that Rashford was a little overrated these days, and said Tottenham captain Son Heung-min was a much better player for example.

He explained: “How good do you think he is now? I think Rashford alongside Fernandes over the last few years has been seen as the players for United who they have got.

“How good do you think he is? Because when people say he is out of form, is he of the levels of Salah, Son, Haaland? I don’t think he is.

“I think he is the level below that. Sometimes I think the expectation on him to be what they are for their teams, I’m not sure he’s on that level.”

Of course, when considering this comparison, it’s hard not to imagine how Marcus Rashford would fare in a Tottenham shirt.

Could Marcus Rashford ever be a good fit at Spurs?

There’s no doubt that Rashford is having a tough time at United these days, a player who doesn’t really seem as if he’s following a certain path.

But given how Postecoglou is known to improve wingers in particular, it would be fascinating to see the two working together.

That’s strictly hypothetical of course, there’s nothing to suggest Spurs would want to or could pull off such a move for now, but it would be incredible to watch unfold.

Perhaps positionally wise Rashford would also present a similar profile to Son at Tottenham, a goal-scoring winger with a penchant for cutting inside from the left.

All that being said, Alan Brazil has been pretty critical of two Spurs forwards recently.
