Celtic star Luis Palma reacts to funny Darwin Nunez moment

Celtic are preparing to travel to Ibrox on Sunday ahead of a crunch Glasgow Derby against Rangers, on a day where the Scottish Premiership title race could take another twist.

One man expected to be back in the fold for the clash is Honduran winger Luis Palma, who is believed to be ahead of schedule in his recovery from a muscle injury.

The 24-year-old has been pencilled in for training this week, and should he come through unscathed, there is every chance that Brendan Rodgers could include Palma in his matchday squad.

Despite the mixed fortunes of some additions this season, the former Aris man has been a reliable contributor, registering nine goals and ten assists across 30 appearances in green and white [Transfermarkt].

In the Scottish Premiership, Palma has also been Celtic’s leading ‘big chance’ creator, fashioning 12 opportunities for his teammates, per Fotmob.

He has also taken on an average of 2.6 shots per league match, with 1.1 hitting the target, illustrating the danger he can pose to opposition backlines [Sofascore].

Granted, there are areas he can improve on in the coming years; however, Palma has shown the value of investigating rarely tapped markets for recruitment purposes.

Anyone partial to social media will know that Palma has an active presence on several platforms, regularly posting light-hearted content or post-match photos.

His latest offering on X has given a funny insight into life in the Celtic dressing room from a viral clip involving Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez.

Passionately, the Uruguay international (who was speaking in Spanish) delivered a speech to some of his teammates, which, through translation, said: “Every moment is our chance to make a change. Let’s play for more than just victory. Let’s play for the future of our planet.”

Scotland international Andy Robertson then smacked the table before replying: “Yes, Darwin! Not a clue what you just said, but I love it, I love it!”

Nunez’s speech was quite funny in itself, and Palma posted his reaction, which read ‘Yo acá en Celtic’, translating to ‘Me here in Celtic’ in English.

In truth, people probably don’t consider language barriers a factor in football as much as they should; however, it is great that Palma is able to laugh about Robertson’s quip to Nunez.
