'The one team': Rob Edwards says Arsenal can do something no other Premier League side can

Luton Town manager Rob Edwards has now claimed that Arsenal are clear of both Liverpool and Manchester City in one regard.

Mikel Arteta will have surely been expecting a slightly bigger test at the Emirates last night.

Making five changes across his team, the Arsenal boss took a calculated risk, one that ultimately did pay dividends.

It’s not necessarily leaving Arsenal exposed by fielding players as good as Thomas Partey and Emile Smith Rowe, but it’s more about who was missing.

Declan Rice remained on the bench for the first hour and Bukayo Saka was involved at all.

That being said, Martin Odegaard really stepped up and played a key role, demonstrating just how crucial he has become.

And despite only seeing half of Arsenal’s potential last night, Rob Edwards was still blown away by the level of the hosts.

Speaking in his press conference after the game, Edwards thought Arteta’s side could simply do everything.

Rob Edwards says Arsenal are the most versatile team in the Premier League right now

Edwards explained that Arsenal give teams next to no chances – a comment justified by the club’s xGa, and said they can do almost everything.

He said: “They give you nothing. It’s really clear how they attack, but difficult to stop.

“They are maybe the one team at the moment that can play any game – a physical game, a running game.”

Of course, Arteta’s project has been questioned so many times over the last few years.

It was only a few months ago Arsenal were thought to be desperate for a striker, a team who had got the balance wrong and become too focused on defending, not finishing their chances.

But the steady improvement has been remarkable, and whilst defending and attacking, Arsenal are able to match teams in all aspects as Rob Edwards mentions.

Of course, this will all count for very little unless Arsenal are able to begin to win serious silverware.

And Arteta has left himself with the two hardest tasks, the Premier League and the Champions League.

And in order to achieve those goals, it really will be a case of taking one game at a time.

That being said, both Ian Wright and Roy Keane have just shared their score predictions for Arsenal’s trip to face Brighton & Hove Albion this weekend.
