Henrik Larsson to open up on special relationship with Celtic fans in new interview

Celtic fans are in for a pre-derby treat this weekend after an interview snippet with Henrik Larsson started to circulate via Sky Sports.

The King of Kings will forever have legendary status in these parts, which may have something to do with his 242 goals in 315 appearances during seven magnificent years at Parkhead.

Four Scottish Premiership titles, two Scottish Cups and two Scottish League Cup trophies gave the Swede a hearty collection of medals at the club; meanwhile, his exploits in the Champions League and UEFA Cup, including the Road to Seville, will never be lived down.

Now, Sky Sports have released an interview teaser conducted by Chris Sutton, who has been speaking to Larsson ahead of our upcoming Glasgow Derby, marking 20 years since he left Celtic.

Anyone willing to watch the full interview will be able to do so on Sky Sports Football from 10 a.m. on Sunday, ahead of the match build-up for the clash against Rangers commencing one hour later.

What Henrik Larsson said to Chris Sutton about time at Celtic

Unfortunately, the broadcaster has only released a small percentage of what is to come from Larsson; however, in the small clip from Sky Sports, there is plenty of insight to be heard about his special relationship with Celtic and the wider support.

First asked about how he is viewed when he goes back to Glasgow, Larsson replied: “I’m quite big there, yes!”

Sutton then described that as ‘special’, to which his old colleague stated: “I feel blessed that people still remember me after 20 years, and that means that you left a mark on someone or in the game. You did something, you will be in the history books, and as a person, you want to leave something good behind.”

Truthfully, Larsson left more than just a mark behind in Glasgow, with his impact at Celtic coming under something more along the lines of a legacy that will forever be enshrined in history.

Come Sunday, plenty of fans will be tuning into his full interview, which is bound to bring back emotional memories of the indeed special time he spent at Parkhead.
