'Cannot believe how good': Pundit says one 'unbelievable' Arsenal man isn't getting the credit he deserves

Izzy Christiansen has suggested that one Arsenal man does not get the credit he deserves, as she insisted that she cannot believe how good he has been.

Arsenal fans continue to dream of ending their 20 year wait for a Premier League title this season. The Gunners’ 2-0 win over Luton Town on Wednesday sent Mikel Arteta’s side back to the top of the table.

Arsenal are unbeaten in the league in 2024, with only Manchester City preventing them from winning a league game since the turn of the year.

It is a remarkable achievement, particularly after the disappointment of last season.

Of course, Arsenal came agonisingly close to winning the title last year. However, the young side appeared to run out of steam as they got closer and closer to the line.

Izzy Christiansen says Arsenal man deserves even more credit

Arsenal have come back and have improved this season. And with that, Izzy Christiansen has suggested that one Arsenal man deserves much more praise.

Speaking on 5 Live Sport, Christiansen claimed that Mikel Arteta has done a much better job than many will give him credit for.

“I don’t think Arteta is getting the credit he deserves. I think he has received quite a lot of, especially last season, I saw quite a lot of people criticising him and I cannot believe how good a job he has done. He has been unbelievable,” she said.

Mikel Arteta on the brink of history

Arteta could make history this season.

No manager has ever won the Premier League title in their first managerial job. But Arteta is, of course, in his first role as a number one.

There have definitely been some bumps in the road. From the outside, there have definitely been some moments where it has appeared that Arteta is on the brink of losing his job.

And owners with less patience would have surely made a change on a few occasions. But Edu and Arsenal had a vision for the club, and they stuck by the Spaniard.

That decision has absolutely been vindicated. Arsenal were heading towards mid-table when Arteta was appointed.

It has taken some time, but the Gunners have now built a side which is threatening to climb the domestic and European mountains – and should still improve further.
