BBC presenter says Pochettino did something 'rare' at full-time vs United which he's never done at Chelsea

Presenter John Southall has now shared what he saw from Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino after their thrilling win against Manchester United.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live that he had seen some interaction between the manager and the fanbase that he couldn’t remember seeing before at Stamford Bridge this season.

Last night was packed with drama, emotion, and an individual performance many will be talking about for sometime.

Palmer saves Chelsea

Cole Palmer netted a hat-trick for the Blues, scoring his last two goals within two minutes at the end of the game.

This helped them to a 4-3 win, sending those who remained in the rain at Stamford Bridge into raptures at full-time.

One of those who reacted strongest was Pochettino, who will clearly have been feeling the pressure moments before his fortunes took a serious turn for the better.

Southall has now shared that some of his antics were moves he had not seen before this season from the Argentine.

Pochettino celebrates with crowd

He said: “Remarkable game. Just as you left us before Mauricio Pochettino was celebrating with the crowd at Stamford Bridge and I have rarely and certainly not since he’s been at Chelsea seen him as animated as he was.

“He was pumping his fists in front of the crowd, whipping them up into a frenzy and you don’t get many nights like this.”

Pochettino has struggled at times this seasonto get everyone in the fanbase onside, with some even calling for his head at the worse times.

However, results like last night’s will go a long way in turning those fortunes around, especially with it clear to see just how much the win at Stamford Bridge meant to him.

It will not be lost on the boss that there were definitely areas they needed to improve in next time out, particularly at the back, however the emotion certainly overrules that for now.

There is not long to prepare for the next test though, with Sheffield United to come on Sunday as they look to finally maintain a push towards the European places.
