‘Outstanding’ Chelsea man has just been named Premier League Player of the Month

One Chelsea player has now been given the honour of being named the Premier League Player of the Month for his performances in March.

This is according to WhoScored, who come up with ratings out of ten based on statistics and data.

Chelsea endured a mixed month as far as March goes. Although they ended it undefeated, they will likely be thinking they should have got more from the fixtures they played.

Chelsea embarrasing against Burnley

This occured most recently at the weekend, with them only able to take a point from the home game against 10-man Burnley.

Despite their average displays across the board, one player has stood out beyond the rest to prove he is a real star this season.

Cole Palmer moved onto 30 combined goals and assists at the weekend, and has been the star of the show since his deadline day move last summer.

He has impressed all around the game this season, with former Blues man Joe Cole describing him as ‘outstanding’.

Palmer named Player of the Month

Saturday was the perfect example of a game where he just needed some help from his teammates, with Mauricio Pochettino worryingly hinting as much in his post-match comments which left more questions than answers.

Nevertheless, the mediocre club form as a whole has not stopped the 21-year-old from being named the player of the month, with a rating of 8.51 across the three games.

He registered three goals and two assists in those matches, a seriously impressive achievement to try and get his side going at last.

The climb up the table towards European places may look big from the bottom half of the table, however realistically is not that far to go considering they have two games in hand.

They well look to get this properly underway again tomorrow night as they welcome Manchester United to Stamford Bridge, with Palmer already finding the net against them this season.
