Cole Palmer has already done something which Eden Hazard could not at Chelsea

Cole Palmer’s first season at Chelsea is already going down in folklore as one of the best debut campaigns in Premier League history.

The England international is on a combined 24 goals and assists in the league already, and only Erling Haaland can say they have scored more than him this season.

Last night was just another sign of the talent Palmer has, scoring a hat-trick in a dramatic 4-3 win over Manchester United.

Palmer stars for Chelsea

His final strike came in the 101 minute, making it the latest winner in Premier League history, and sending Stamford Bridge into raptures.

It honestly doesn’t bare thinking about for those Chelsea fans right now just where they would be in the table without the 21-year-old, and the impact he has had has been compared already to one of their best signings of the modern era.

Eden Hazard was arguably the best player in the Premier League during his tenure at the club, and his debut season was one where he showed everyone in England just how good he was.

Palmer exceeds Hazard debut goal tally

Palmer however has already exceeded the goal tally of the Belgian during his first campaign at the club, according to The Telegraph, and if he carries on this way has the potential to do great things in West London.

Pundit Jamie O’Hara last night compared him to Gareth Bale during his time at Tottenham, and he has gone down as one of the best players to feature in the history of the league.

While some other players such as Enzo Fernandez deserve credit for their displays, all the talk was about Palmer and his brilliance, with him clearly going to be the first name on the teamsheet when they continue their push up towards the European places against Sheffield United.

Last night’s win kept their fading hopes of qualifying for Europe alive, and therefore Mauricio Pochettino in a job in West London.
