A street in Middletown in Monmouth County will soon be named after two hometown stars including the musician, actor and political activist Steven Van Zandt.

The township will host an event to ceremonially rename Wilson Avenue “Van Zandt Way” in honor of the renowned E Street Band member and his brother, Billy Van Zandt, an Emmy-nominated television writer, Middletown officials announced this week.

Both Steven and Billy Van Zandt are expected to attend the event, which will take place on April 26 at 11 a.m.

Van Zandt Way signs will be placed throughout the avenue to mark the change, officials said.

More details about the day have yet to be confirmed from Middletown Township and the New Jersey Hall of Fame, which will also be in attendance.

The Van Zandt brothers grew up in Middletown after moving there from Massachusetts at a young age.

Steven Van Zandt is known for his musical contributions, particularly his time in Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band, as well as his role as the character Silvio Dante in “The Sopranos.”

He graduated from Middletown High School and used to perform at the now-closed Hullabaloo club as a kid, where he first met Springsteen in 1965.

Billy Van Zandt starred in and wrote plays including “You’ve Got Hate Mail” and has won awards for his writing on shows such as “Newhart,” “Martin,” and “The Hughleys.”
