Another school district has announced that it will have early dismissals on Monday due to the expected solar eclipse.

The East Orange School District posted on its Facebook page Friday night announcing the decision, explaining it wants to “ensure our children will enjoy this historical moment safely with their parents or loved ones.”

All pre-schools, elementary schools and secondary schools in the district will have a half-day schedule.

East Orange is the latest to follow other school districts declaring early dismissals and half days due to Monday’s eclipse.

School district leaders say that they are concerned students will look at the eclipse without any protective eyewear, which can result in potential eye damage.

Cherry Hill, Livingston, Pennsauken and Winslow are some of the many districts that have previously announced early dismissal for Monday.
