Edu Gaspar and Martin Odegaard left blown away by £27m Arsenal player’s display at Brighton

Edu Gaspar and Martin Odegaard have both sent messages to one Arsenal player following last night’s win at Brighton.

Arsenal picked up a comfortable 3-0 win at the Amex Stadium thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard.

Mikel Arteta’s men made simple work of yet another difficult trip on the road as they completely dominated proceedings.

Saka opened the scoring in the first half from the penalty spot after Tariq Lamptey brought down Gabriel Jesus inside just the Brighton penalty area.

Jorginho then set up Havertz just after the hour mark to give Arsenal some breathing space before Trossard came off the bench to wrap things up.

It was the Belgian forward’s first game at his former club after leaving to join the Gunners for £27 million back in January last year.

Trossard produced a delightful chip to beat Bart Verbruggen and certainly didn’t hesitate to celebrate at his former home.

The Arsenal star replaced Jesus in the 64th minute and his cameo display has led to praise from Edu Gaspar and Martin Odegaard.

Trossard took to Instagram after last night’s game and wrote: “Are you not entertained?”

It led to praise beneath the post from his teammates Odegaard and Gabriel Magalhaes, while Arsenal sporting director Gaspar also left a reply.

Trossard helped Arsenal to inflict Brighton’s first home defeat since August after a dominant away display.

At this stage, there are certainly no signs of Arteta’s men suffering from a dip in form during the business end of the campaign.

With Martinelli being below his best for the majority of the season, Trossard has once again proven to be an important option for Arteta.

The 29-year-old has netted 12 times and provided two assists in 37 appearances in all competitions this season.

In the Premier League, Trossard has managed eight goals and one assist in 27 games.
