Liverpool have obvious Ruben Amorim alternative no one is talking about, he’s like Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool have another candidate other than Ruben Amorim who is just like Jurgen Klopp and who is an ideal alternative.

Right now, it seems like Liverpool’s favourite candidate to succeed Jurgen Klopp is Ruben Amorim. You can’t really argue with his appointment.

The Portuguese manager has delivered a first league title in 19 years during his time at Sporting CP. This season he is on course to repeat the same feat after what Sporting CP did last night.

Amorim plays exciting attacking football, with the same high-risk and high-reward strategy that is present in Klopp’s current gegenpressing system.

He also embraces youth and has given debuts to 25 players at Sporting CP who were 21-years-old or younger during his three and a half seasons at the club.

But as we have seen with Xabi Alonso, just because one candidate is the favourite to take on the job, doesn’t mean they will.

There is an alternative solution for Liverpool who could make just as much sense as Amorim, and who nobody is talking about right now.

Who could be Liverpool’s Ruben Amorim alternative?

There aren’t a lot of elite managers who fit the profile in terms of what Liverpool will be looking for.

Amorim definitely has the best track record and the longest experience at the highest level. But there are some other potential candidates Liverpool could also explore.

Including Sebastian Hoeneß, who has really gone under the radar this season, but who is one of the brightest young managers in European football at the moment.

Hoeneß’s achievements at Stuttgart this season are pretty much on par with the way Xabi Alonso has transformed Bayer Leverkusen. Yet, the limelight hasn’t quite found the young coach, even though he plays exciting attacking football very similar to Klopp.

Who is Sebastian Hoeneß? And why is he perfect for Liverpool?

As a player Hoeneß’s career never really took off. However, as a manager, he has been making some impressive strides.

Hoeneß began his work at RB Leipzig’s youth system, having the Red Bull pressing methods instilled in his DNA. He then moved onto working as Bayern Munich’s youth set-up, even managing the club’s second team.

He got his big break at TSG Hoffenheim, working at the club for almost two years and doing a stellar job before joining Stuttgart.

When Hoeneß joined Stuttgart in April last year, the club were in the relegation zone. He managed to rescue them from relegation via the Bundesliga play-offs, beating Hamburg.

This season he has since completely transformed the side though. Hoeneß has taken Stuttgart from relegation strugglers to third place in the Bundesliga and looking like they will secure Champions League football next season.

That is a remarkable achievement, and something that should be of note. Hoeneß’s style is very similar to Klopp’s gegenpressing football.

If Amorim wasn’t appointed as Klopp’s successor, he would be the perfect alternative option.
