High profile manager, PL star & celebrity chef spotted taking in Rangers v Celtic

A famous Old Firm derby between Rangers and Celtic certainly had a celebrity appeal this afternoon.

The Ibrox side and their arch Parkhead rivals played out an enthralling 3-3 draw which pitched the Scottish Premiership’s showpiece fixture up with the best this Sunday afternoon.

But with this the final Rangers v Celtic match at Ibrox which will be played with no away fans in attendance, a few famous faces got their hands on tickets.

Let’s hope like everyone else their heart rate has returned to normal.

Gareth Southgate

Heading into the game a lot was made about Gareth Southgate’s visit to Ibrox with Jack Butland in mind ahead of Euro 2024.

The Rangers goalkeeper was certainly involved in the match and pulled off a couple of very important saves in the first half.

That said, there may be some questions about Butland for the first goal which shellshocked Rangers just seconds into the game whilst Matt O’Riley beat him easily from the spot.

Who knows if the England manager seen enough to be convinced of a Butland recall in the match but it’s further evidence the Gers keeper is on Southgate’s radar.

Gordon Ramsay

Former Rangers youth player Gordon Ramsay was also back at Ibrox to take in the clash with Celtic.

Having made his name as a celebrity chef rather than a famous footballer, you’re more likely to see Ramsay on your TV than at Ibrox.

But after signing a partnership with a restaurant at the stadium, and filming part of a BBC series at Ibrox, Gordon Ramsay was spotted back in Glasgow taking in the Old Firm derby.

Billy Gilmour

Billy Gilmour is potentially always going to be labelled the one that got away for Rangers.

The Scotland international midfielder is making a name for himself in the Premier League, having moved to Chelsea as a kid and then on to Brighton.

A boyhood bluenose who never makes any bones about his loyalty to the blue side of Glasgow, Gilmour was spotted ahead of the match.

At only 22-years-old the best of Billy’s bright career is in front of him but don’t rule out a return to Rangers when the time is right.
