Report: Leeds player's camp believe he won't join another English club if he leaves Elland Road this summer

Archie Gray has reportedly made an interesting decision on his future, with Borussia Dortmund eyeing the Leeds United starlet ahead of the summer transfer window.

Leeds seemingly face a battle to keep Archie Gray this summer, regardless of which division we find ourselves in next year.

Gray has been a revelation for Daniel Farke’s side this season. Of course, he has been in and around the first-team fold ever since being included on the bench by Marcelo Bielsa as a 15-year-old.

But it was only at the beginning of this campaign that Gray got the chance to make his debut. The midfielder has been outstanding at both right-back and in central midfield.

It is clear that Leeds have something special on their hands in Gray. Therefore, it is also no surprise that the England under-21 international is wanted elsewhere.

In fact, the report claims that Dortmund head the queue in case Leeds fail to go up. And interestingly, the report adds that sources close to Gray’s camp believe that he would not join another English side if he does leave Elland Road.

Losing Leeds star would be easier if he doesn’t join another English club

Hopefully, we do not need to worry about losing Gray anytime soon. But there is little doubt after this season that he is destined for the top, and he is likely to get there one way or another.

Leeds’ challenge therefore, is to try and give Gray the stage to realise many of his ambitions. The first hurdle to clear, of course, is to secure promotion this season.

It would soften the blow if Gray did not move to another English club. And joining Dortmund would be an exciting move given that they have helped launch the careers of Erling Haaland and Jude Bellingham in recent years.
