'I do believe': Jamie Carragher predicts what's about to happen to Arsenal in their final few away games

Jamie Carragher has made a prediction about Arsenal ahead of their final few away games in the Premier League this season.

Mikel Arteta’s men are the best side in the league on current form and continued their brilliant run with a 3-0 win at Brighton on Saturday.

With just seven games left to play, Arsenal sit above Liverpool on goal difference and a point ahead of Manchester City.

Since the turn of the year, the Gunners have picked up 10 wins from their last 11 league games.

Arsenal certainly don’t look like a side that will drop points anytime soon. But they will be mindful of their late-season collapse last time out which led to City being crowned champions.

And while Jamie Carragher isn’t anticipating a similar drop-off this season, the former Liverpool man believes there will be a few bumps in the road for Arteta’s side.

Carragher makes Arsenal prediction

Speaking on the Gary Neville Podcast, Carragher said he expects Arsenal to drop points in their remaining away games.

“There’s an awful long way to go,” he said. “I do believe that Arsenal will drop points, in a different way. I think Arsenal may have games where they don’t score, maybe away from home when they’re trying to chase that one goal whereas I think Liverpool will always score goals.

“Manchester City are Manchester City. I think for Liverpool to win the league and I’ve always believed this, I think they need the two of them to play each other in the Champions League semi-final.

“I think they both need to get through because I know what it’s like psychologically, and physically playing an English team, we played Chelsea a lot, it takes a lot out of you and when you’re also going for a league title as well, that could still help Liverpool.”

Arsenal’s remaining fixtures

It’s fair to say that Arsenal do face a tricky run-in as Arteta bids to deliver a league title to the Emirates Stadium.

Glenn Hoddle has already backed Liverpool to get over the line due to their favourable fixtures.

The Gunners will face a short trip across north London to Tottenham, as well as difficult away games at Wolves and Manchester United.

But based on their recent performances, Arsenal won’t fear anyone and should they come through these away games, they would be in a commanding position.
