Mikel Arteta could now start exciting 22-year-old for Arsenal tonight, he's truly 'unstoppable' - opinion

Arsenal will look to return to the top of the Premier League table on Wednesday night as they take on Luton Town at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners kept their title hopes firmly alive with a 0-0 draw at Manchester City at the weekend which keeps them just two points off top spot.

Arsenal currently sit second in the table on 65 points, with leaders Liverpool boasting 67 points and the Citizens third on 64 points.

Needless to say, it could be a case of fine margins for each club involved in the Premier League title run-in, and obviously having your best players available will be key.

On Tuesday, Mikel Arteta provided a positive update regarding an Arsenal player whose presence in the team is a major asset.

Could Gabriel Martinelli start for Arsenal against Luton?

The player in question is Gabriel Martinelli, who started Sunday’s match on the bench on the bench after missing the previous two matches.

Martinelli replaced Bukayo Saka late on in the game, making his first appearance in around a month after sustaining a gashed foot against Sheffield United.

Indeed, the 22-year-old was seen on crutches before the recent 2-1 victory over Brentford, sparking fears over when he could return to action.

Luckily, Martinelli was deemed fit enough to make the bench against Man City, and it looks as though he could be in line to start against Luton.

Arteta said about Martinelli, as per football.london: “He is (available) because he was available to play against a really tough opponent.

“He certainly is today. We will train later and see how he is tomorrow.”

This is great news, as Martinelli is a world-class player whose ‘unstoppable‘ pace and directness down the left flank are a major asset for Arsenal.

Indeed, Highbury icon Ian Wright even believes that the Gunners would have beaten Manchester City if the Brazilian was fit enough to start.

Obviously we’ll know for certain at around 6:30pm when the team news come out, but it looks positive.
