Harvey Elliott shares what he’s about to do in Liverpool training after draw with Man United

Harvey Elliott has been talking about what he is about to do in Liverpool training this week after the draw with Manchester United.

It’s a draw that feels more like a defeat than any other for Liverpool. Manchester United always felt like the biggest challenge left for the Reds.

Especially after what transpired in the FA Cup at Old Trafford last month. You felt that the players would learn from it.

And if they did, they would gain a huge ascendancy in the Premier League title race. But alas, that never proved to be the case.

Instead, Liverpool pretty much made the same mistakes as they did in the FA Cup before the international break. The Reds were toothless in front of goal and allowed Manchester United to make dangerous counter attacking runs.

In the end, all of that hurt Liverpool and it meant they needed a miracle, even just to get a draw at Old Trafford.

Harvey Elliott’s brilliant impact against Manchester United

That miracle came from Harvey Elliott. Liverpool’s 21-year-old produced another brilliant cameo. Even impressing Jamie Carragher in the process.

Elliott also made the decisive contribution in the final third to snatch Liverpool a draw. His brilliant drive into United’s box and the skill to draw a foul was exactly what the Reds needed.

Yet, even he was disappointed after the match, andit was summed up by his reaction after the full time whistle.

Elliott clearly felt like Liverpool should have done better, and after the game he explained what he was going to work on to improve.

What Harvey Elliott will now work on in training

Towards the end of the game, another chance fell to Harvey Elliott right towards the end. But the Liverpool midfielder just couldn’t find the back of the net.

It was a difficult chance to take, and it would have been some goal if Elliott succeeded in his effort.

However, still the youngster was not satisfied with his finish.

“It was just my main focus to get a good connection and to make sure I didn’t blast it over, especially on my right foot as well. It was a tough opportunity,” Elliott told Liverpool’s official website.

“I would have backed myself 100 per cent on my left. In all fairness, I back myself too on my right. It unfortunately didn’t go either side [of the goalkeeper].”

Elliott admitted it’s now something he will be looking to work on in training.

“But it’s something I can work on, something I can reflect on and practise in training now. A point is better than no points at all and we now need to reflect and go again on Thursday [against Atalanta].”

That’s the attitude we love to see. Elliott is still young and hungry. He isn’t satisfied by where he is at, he is constantly looking to improve.
